Alright. I have done 42 remixes in my lifetime that have been released commercially. There have been some great experiences and some not-so-great experiences. But I think I am just about ready to remove the title of “remixer” from my job description. These days, in dance music, most of the time I do a remix I am doing a complete 180 flip on the original. Pretty much writing a whole new track and just using the original vocal or a few little snippets from the original. But basically I am creating an entirely new composition. As is the case with other remixers, much of the time.
